Lounge Access After Flight for Shower

Hello all-

My husband and I will be arriving at FCO in the early morning hours after a night-long flight on United Polaris business class. I am wondering if there is a lounge we can access upon arrival that will allow us to shower and clean up. Do you know the access fee? Exact location?
Many thanks,
Christina

I do not know UAL policy, but with other airlines I have used, access to a lounge ( and showers if available) is for pre-flight or between flights. My experience is once you are at your destination, you are no longer a customer

UAL may have some day use fee ( check their website) to gain access to their lounge, but why not contact your hotel about early check in? At worst you could drop off your luggage and wander around until check in time.

Having been in a very dry airplane overnight, you are unlike to reek of sweat and be offensive. :-)

I do understand the desire to freshen up. Had the chance to do that on a long layover in Miami, en-route Rio to Seattle.

Its crazy - the way it is worded is Polaris Business is allowed but NOT Polaris First - I'd ask

Thank you for the info!! Joe, we would arrange an early check-in but will be renting a car and heading to Florence instead of staying in Rome.
The info. offered by UAL is not user friendly so, Christi, thank you for the links. I'm usually a Delta gal ;-)

There is no United club at FCO, they share with Alitalia. I visited the departure club there once and was impressed by the coffee service and the wide variety of foods. I have not been in the arrivals lounge, so I am not aware of the details on what is available or if it is offered to United customers.

United does have arrivals lounges in many European destinations. I have used them to shower and have nice breakfasts often. These clubs, for those who are not aware, are usually located outside the international arrivals area and are not the same as the departure lounges which are located inside security near the gates.

The lounge at FCO does not show Polaris 1st class because currently the United planes flying into FCO only have business and economy.

If this information does not pan out to be accurate or convenient...many airports offer individual restrooms just outside the main ones, you could de-robe and do a wash up in sink, towel off and put on fresh clothing...I am sure that you are not the only one who will have done this! :)

Good luck perking up before driving on jetlag...check the forum for driving in Italy tips re. traffic violations, parking etc. Enjoy!
