Just got back from 9 days in Italy. Great trip visiting Montalcino and the Cinque Terre. However, my SD card went haywire and I've lost my photos. I'd like to show my family where we've been. If you have recent photos to share, please help.

If you haven't taken new photos on top of your card, they may be retrievable. There is software designed to recover photos from the cards that is specific to the camera you use. We had a good friend who wiped his card (camera deleted everything) and he was able to recover approximately 85% of his photos.
Try googling SD recovery and the camera brand.

Or go to flickr.com and type in either of those and prepare to be presented with thousands of pictures to choose from. If you can figure out the advanced search feature, you can specify the date range for when the pictures were taken, to capture more closely your experience when you were there.

Thanks to all for your help. I've found some great substitute photos on the net, and I've learned a valuable lesson - try out that new camera before you take youir trip.

I agree with the previous comment about Googling photo recovery software, if you haven't already. I had to do this once when my Compact Flash card went haywire on me and was able to recover ALL of my lost photos. The program cost around $25 and well worth it.
I haven't been to Italy yet, but I found some nice Italy galleries on PBase.com. Just type the location you're looking for in the search engine.
