Looking to make art while in Venice

When will you be in Venice? There are some amazing art things going on at the moment, but when you will be there matters.

I am not personally familiar with what's available in Venice but depending on the level of instruction you want.....last April I did 2 workshops in Paris that were beginner based. I am not an Air BnB person BUT I booked these 2 experiences and was so happy with the outcomes. The instructor was excellent, did the workshop in perfect English (was a translator in a previous life) and French, provided all the materials and helped each of us individually. I had the same instructor for both workshops.

I suggest taking a look at both Air BnB and GetYourGuide to see if there is anything that looks good. With Air BnB I think you automatically get a 50% off coupon after your first experience so don't book more than one at a time.

I did book a drawing experience thru GetYourGuide but as soon as it was approved the artist messaged me and asked if we could change the day and time. I initially said yes, then decided to cancel. I got an immediate refund from them which surprised me.

We expect to be there Oct 2-5 this fall.

So the good news if you will be in Venice for the huge biannual art show/festival called the La Biennale di Venezia.

The bad news is you're going to miss the parallel Homo Faber exhibit that ends in September. But the good news is that their guide to artisans of Venice should still be current and they will probably be less busy than during the festival.

In the past some of these places have had workshops or classes as well as tours in conjunction with Homo Faber.
