Are you looking for day tours, tours of specific sites (i.e., Vatican, Colosseum, Pompeii), or an fully escorted tour with lodging, transportation, and so on?

Hi

I have gone to Italy now 7x and am going again this July (can not wait). I started on cruise ships but I have gained my confidence doing land trips now.
The tour company that I recommend and have used several times now in Florence, Naples and Rome is Joe Banana Limos. If you have a group, you can look at their website italytoursharing.com

I highly recommend their tour in the Amalfi area going to Positano/Sorrento, Ravello. They take you high up to this restaurant on the hill and you have the best lunch you have ever eaten. It includes many courses (family style) and wine and lemonchello. So fun, and the views are amazing.

I have don't the Best Of Rome tour which I thought was excellent. But I have also done another one which I can't remember th name but we went to the underground museum that was very interesting and also had a fantastic lunch at a family style restaurant in a back alley. It was amazing. I ate the best on those tours, lol.

Laurel asks an excellent question:

Are you looking for day tours, tours of specific sites (i.e., Vatican,
Colosseum, Pompeii), or an fully escorted tour with lodging,
transportation, and so on?

The type of tour you choose depends on your level of interest. I see from previous posts that you are "a young female" and are considering Egypt and Ekaternsburg (Russia), and that you are also traveling Edinburgh>London this summer. What is your comprehensive travel plan for 2019?

Hi Kathy- looking for tour groups for the entire trip that includes transportation and hotels in Italy.

And yes Iโ€™m going to Scotland and England this summer. I like to travel each year so Iโ€™m looking into different possibilities.

Wait you are on the Rick Steves site ? Why havenโ€™t you looked at his tours?

I agree. I felt that Rick's Italy tour was a wonderful way to get a great overview of Italy. Love the travel philosophy and the way one is encouraged to go off on one's own for part of the time. You will not be herded around like a bunch of sheep. I have really liked all of the tour guides on all of the Rick Steve tours I have been on.

There are many tour companies that include Rome and Amalfi. Here are a few:

Rick Steves
Odysses Unlimited
Road Scholar
Perillo Tours
Globus/Cosmos
Trafalgar
Insight
Collette

All offer tours to the areas you want to go but are somewhat different. My suggestion is to research each one and go with the one that sounds best to you.

The OP claims "This is my first time on Rick Steves" but the posting history shows similar questions about other places, including Egypt and Russia. Well, it's good to have a hobby.

lmason219, apologies if you took my response as rude or snarky as it truly wasn't meant to be. Merely direct and logical - considering the site you've posted to - given you haven't provided us your age, your interests, your budget, your citizenship, how much time you'll have, how much you've traveled or any other info that could help us drill down to the type of tour which might be most suitable for you.

There are umpty, "tour groups for the entire trip that includes transportation and hotels in Italy." There are tours to suit different ages, budgets and even specific interests. Some offer luxe accommodations, 3 meals a day and full luggage/transport services. Others bunk their customers in hostels, provide continental breakfasts only, and you haul your luggage to/from the bus. Some do deep dives into the art, architecture, history and/or culture of just a few places, and others do a surface scratch of many.

It didn't make sense just to create a long, long laundry list of ALL that's available out there - you can do that yourself with just a google of "escorted tours Italy" - versus try to drill down to some specifics. Understand that if you walked into a decent travel agent's office and asked for an escorted tour of Italy, that agent would ask you a whole lot of questions before making any recommendations.

So the link I gave you? It was one answer to your question. Everything on the top of that page down to "Best of Europe" is a tour in Italy that includes hotels and transport. None of them may be suitable but we know almost nothing about you!

LOL

Kathy is a vet, one of the most helpful people here. Given the situation, Iโ€™ve thought responses to your post have been restrained.

Your post is similar to someone walking in a restaurant and asking the host if they know a good place to eat.
