I am looking for recomendations for restaurants in Sorrento and Positano. I have seen in Positano, La Tagiata, but have been unable to find any info on the helpline about it.
Anyone know any good ones in those places?
Thanks, Jim
James
Make a point in Sorrento to head down to the Marina Grande- Restorante Delfino- the seafood is excellent and the sunset and setting are breathtaking. In Positano we ate at the beach restaurant - any one is good also if you walk up the main street up the hill (east)there is a restaurant on the left but they set tables out on the side walk on the water side and the view is spectacular - Food good. Enjoy - wish I were going back but heading to the Cinque Terre next year.
James,
One restaurant in Sorrento that I would most definitely recommend is L'Antica Trattoria! It's listed in Rick's book as a "splurge" and it certainly fits that description as it's best for those with a large budget. The food and the service are both excellent! Check their website at www.lanticatrattoria.com/eng/index.htm for information.
I don't much information on Positano. There was a nice restaurant right above the beach (red awning), but I can't remember the name.
Happy travels!
Hi James:
In Sorrento I can recommend "Il Buco" at Piazza San Antonino. Also "Da Gigino" at Via San Cesareo.
Positano also affords a wealth of experiences.
Local cuisine , family style I would suggest "Il Grottino" up at the top of the village. Mid village let me suggest "Saraceno D'Oro" and the up the hill on the main street as mentioned is "Bruno's" which I believe is a Rick Steves recommendation. On the beach local is "o'Caporale" or "Tre Sorelle".
"Tagliata" is in Monteprtuso one of the mountain communities of Positan as is "Santa Croce" in Nocelle. I asked the same question you did and was referred to Positano Adventure Walks that do personal itineraries. We definitely ate well locally.
