Looking for recommendations for hotels in Florence

Hi Everyone,

We'll be in Florence in early October, and I'm looking for recommendations on really nice hotels within walking distance of most history. Our budget is $350 max!

Thanks so much!

Hotel Pendini. Request room 206. Gorgeous view of the piazza with a balcony, high ceilings and huge bath.

I tried both suggestions, and sadly they are booked for our days in Florence.
Also checked the other recommendations on the Forum - but not available or too $$$.
We'll find something eventually!

Did you check Hotel California? Wonderful place to stay and one can walk to just about everthing.

We just stayed at Hotel Alba, a 6-min walk from train station. Though not luxurious and on a street that at first looks sketchy, it was a comfortable stay, and 3 doors down from Santa Maria Novellas famous pharmacy and local restaurants (one of which had lines to get into nightly). Request a room facing the courtyard where it’s nice and quiet. We had the worlds tiniest bathroom but I didn’t go to Florence to spend time in a bathroom. It was adequate for me, husband and college-age daughter. It also has a nice breakfast and nightly happy hour where we met other travelers.

I know you are interested in hotels but have you considered looking at Airbnbs?
We will be in Florence in early October and have reservations at one by the Duomo with a terrace.

Really good news - I booked Hotel Paris directly through email and everything looks good!
Thank to everyone for your suggestions - and special thanks to Christine for Hotel Paris recommendation!

Next will be booking tours :-)

Will keep you updated. I will say it was a much better price booking direct with the hotel than Booking.com.
Next on the agenda - booking walking tours!!!

Check Hotel La Scaletta.

I wanted to get a friend of mine to the Hotel California for next month when I also go visit family in Florence, but it was all booked (there is no longer plenty of room any time of the year). Also it has become expensive. It must be the high cost of their pink champagne on ice.

Planning on the Colesseum and Sistine Chapel - and whatever historical sites we can fit in this trip!

I stayed at a great place called Granduomo Charming Accommodation. It's directly across from the Duomo. The rooms are air conditioned, have kitchenettes, refrigerators. The owner brings croissants for breakfast. I'd happily go back there.
