Hi fellow travelers! I’m planning a trip to the Emilia Romagna area and would love any recommendations for a private foodie/wine tour around Parma and/or Modena.
We did a cheese, balsamic, and Ferrari tour with a guide and private driver in a van in 2020 with our dog. The guide was great, and the driver was happy to hang out with our dog when Barley couldn’t join us for the tour. They were flexible as we rescheduled several times due to Covid. The cost was €258 for about 6 hours. Search the various options on Emilia Romagna Tours.
We took Caterina Schenetti’s food tour of Modena. She can customize for anything you want to do. She was on Somebody Feed Phil and that was how I found her. She’s on Facebook and Instagram.
thanks!! ill check out these options. so cool!
We were in Bologna in 2019 and used Italian Days for a food tour https://www.italiandays.it/. They pick you up at your hotel and take you to a parmesan cheese factory, balsamic maker and prosciutto factory ending with a family style lunch that was outstanding. Highly recommend.
If Caterina isn't available I do food tours in Modena, working with Emilia Romagna Tours. This is the website, to find some ideas: https://emiliaromagnatours.it .
The tour can be customized because are private tours, so you can inquire to say what you prefer to visit. Unfortunately some transport costs have increased in the last months, due to Covid and the increasing of the fuel cost :-( .
The AirBNB experience "secrets of parmigianno reggiano" was one of the best things we did on our month long stay in Italy this past summer.

Check out ACETUM for a fantastic balsamic vinegar tour. We were lucky enough to tour before it was open to the public. A very memorable day.
