Apparently there is a shortage of taxi drivers as well as Uber. Wondering if anybody has a contact of a private driver they have used that we could hire to take us to our airbnb We arrive in Rome late in the evening at a proximity 11 o'clock and do not wish to travel with luggage and stand out like a easy mark

I asked the hotel via email and they have a company they work with. They set it all up and driver was there at airport waiting for us. Only about 10€ more than a cab!

I second the suggestion of Rome Cabs. I’ve also used Rome Shuttle Limousine (regular car, not limo despite the name). Both worked well and were only a tiny bit more than a cab. Finally, in other cities I have used Welcome Pickups. Also great, not totally sure if it operates in Rome, but I would think so.
All these services are pre-arranged and the driver meets you as you exit baggage claim/customs, he/she is standing there holding a sign woth your name on it. So much easier than the cab line or finding the Uber pick up area.
So you don’t need the contact of an individual driver who may or may not have availability, meaning you might need to try multiple individuals. Just book with the service.
