We (5 of use) flying into Palermo for 3 days and to rent car. To drive to Trabia and Prizzi to visit towns my grandparents came from. Looking for some suggestions where to stay.
Others suggested when going to Palermo drive to train station and take train into town.
Over whelming and don't want to get stuck in a dump or bad location.
We love to be able to walk into town, have breakfast, meals where tourest dont eat etc etc
Will have our 3 teenage girls with use.
Thanks for any help suggestions and more....this trip includes 12 day cruise out of Vince. Have that nailed down then on to a place in Barcilona and Paris

Going in July (as you indicated in a different thread), maybe consider a vacation rental near where the teens could go swimming/beaching. Try VRBO, Homeaway, booking,com, iha.com - use Google maps to look up where the listings are situated.
I'd pick somewhere between Palermo and Trabia, off the SS113. Use public transportation to go sightseeing in Palermo itself (parking the car at a bus stop or train station on the way into Palermo - someone local could guide you on that).
Do not base yourself in Palermo itself with a car and do not drive into Palermo to sightsee.
Cefalù would also make a great base for Trabia as well (or a daytrip); especially if you would consider splitting your time.
Were you planning on visiting outside of the Palermo region - i.e. to visit Selinunte? If so, then you can try to book a night or two at an agriturismo near Prizzi or Contessa Entelina, before looping back towards Palermo airport.
