Looking for nice place in Rome to stay

Was looking at booking at Gladiatori Hotel for about 300 Euros/nt but saw mixed reviews on trip advisor. Does anyone have a comparable place with better reviews or has anyone been there and know about it firsthand? Taking wife for 25th wedding ann., therefore want it to be special.
Thanks

James,
My husband and I have stayed in both Hotel Sonya and their new Sonya Suites. Considerably less than 300 euros/night with breakfast and close to Termini. Check them out on the web. Boni

We stayed her in May 2007 for 10 days, loved it. Short walk to the Termi staion and we did a day trip to Pompeii and Florence from the train station as well as accessed the subway and buses from the Termi.

They have reasonable prices, and a great breakfast every morning and free internet. No elevator though and you do need to walk up a few flights of stairs but nothing too major. They have some nice rooms and there was a couple on their honeymoon when we were there.

We are taking a cruise out of Rome in May 2009 and are going 3 days early for sightseeing. I searched for a hotel centrally located and reasonable (as that is possible in Rome). I have booked with a place near the Vatican called Guesthouse Beldes. Look them up on web. They have been very good answering my questions and reply quickly. The cost for next May is going to be 170 euros a night and that includes breakfast, taxes and fees included. Good luck in your search and Congrats on your 25th. Our cruise is in celebration of our 25th.

James,

Just wanted to add congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary and spending it in Italy. We celebrated our 25th last week but took our anniversary trip to Italy in July. The Amalfi coast was my dream and our trip was even better than a dream. Hope your's is as special.

If anyone is looking for a hotel in a great location in Rome, under 100 euros when I was there, try the "Hosianum Palace." So much charm, great breakfast.www.hosianum.com. A few blocks away is Argentina Square, where I love the Cat Sanctuary in the ruins. A must see if you love cats! www.romancats.com
Have a wonderful trip!
