I've searched the archives extensively to no avail.
Do you know any restaurnts in Rome that feature live music, especially folk/traditional Italian?
My husband and I had no trouble finding jazz clubs in Rome, but how about the music we've come to associate with Italy- YES, I realize that I risk finding "cheesy" venues with doubtful food perhaps, but would be really neat to experience music. Is my idea of a family-run eatery with strolling musicians a total fantasy? Any tips?
(Also... speaking of cheesy ideas about Rome, the evening dinner cruise on the Tiber also sounds appealing. Wasn't this in an Audrey Hepburn/Cary Grant movie?)
Something like this?
Hahah! Had forgotten about this. Yeah.
The Tiber is not an appealing place to have dinner. It is basically a concrete canyon like the L.A. River. There is a lot of flotsam floating in it; soccer balls, spare tires (with wheel still attached), fast food containers, lumber, tree limbs...
You might try the Piazza Navona with it's numerous outdoor restaurants.
