My husband and I will be staying in Padova for a few days following a cruise and need some help as to the best way for us to get to Padova from the port in Trieste. This is our first visit to Italy so really have no idea what to expect. Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide.

www.trenitalia.com. More or less hourly regional trains to Venice Mestre, change to a regional train to Padova. 14.50 euro per person, takes about 2 1/2 hours. There a few direct IC trains during the day for a bit more money.
Trieste Central station is 2/3 mile from the Stazione Marittima. There is a local bus or take a taxi.
