Looking for hotel suggestions near Hotel Smeraldo

Can anyone recommend a hotel near Hotel Smeraldo that would not break the bank? My husband and I will be staying there for three nights. We have friends meeting us in Rome and they would like to be near our hotel. Hotel Smeraldo is booked. Thanks!

Hotel Smeraldo is right near the Campo de' Fiori (fun spot-daytime market and nighttime restaurant and bar scene). We stayed at the Hotel Campo de' Fiori our first time in Rome and the Smeraldo in 2007. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Also, if you put in Hotel Smeraldo on TripAdvisor and pull up the map, you can zoom in and see 'pins' of hotels nearby and read the reviews. I think the Smeraldo had a sister hotel, but I can't remember the name or location. Good luck!

We stayed at Hotel Campo Di Fiori last summer (171 euros)and it's very nice. We couldn't afford the view rooms but it was nice but small, clean and quiet with a great bathroom, professionally run and cute roof terrace with wonderful views. Good website www.campodifiori.com and they answer right back

Have you emailed the Hotel Smeraldo and asked if they could recommend something close by? If you explain the situation (you may have already done this, I don't know) they may be able to find something that will make you all happy. Have a great trip!

You could try Hotel in Parione which is also run by Hotel Smeraldo and is just a few steps away from the Smeraldo. www.inparione.com

I remember seeing the Parione when we stayed at Hotel Smeraldo in July 2006. The Smeraldo was very nice with great air conditioning. Rooms were smallish but the great a/c made up for that. I would think that the Parione would be very nice too.

Casa di Santa Brigida is on Piazza Farnese and that is very close to Campo Di Fiori.

In 2002 we stayed at Hotel Pensione Italia, which is located between Via Nazionale and Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. This would be further away from the Smeraldo but was nice with a/c and ceilig fans.

Good Luck!
