I am looking for a hotel to stay in Milan for 3-4 days. I saw that the Hotel Gran Duca di York was recommended on this site but they are sold out for the days we will be there. Looking for a convenient location close to the city center, cathedral and easy to walk sites around €300 per night. Please let me know why you liked staying there (clean, quiet, close to site, etc).
OH and an elevator is VERY important as we cannot lift heavy luggage. Thanks!

I second Spadari. It's chic but friendly. Lots of blue. See if you can get a room with a terrace. It's next door to Gastronomia Peck, so if you don't feel like eating in a restaurant you can get a great takeout meal and some wine and hang out on the terrace watching the trams go by.
