Hi we are traveling with another couple to Florence September 2025. We are looking for reasonablably priced yet clean and in good location, hotel accommodations . Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
OP look at the header of the Forum. Where it says Rick Steves Europe. On the left side you’ll see 5 horizontal white lines. Click on them. The search box will appear. Type in Florence accommodations. You’ll get a number of replies to research.
I’m certain other Forum members will offer intel.
Have you looked in the Rick Steves' guidebook? That's where we found, Hotel Il Bargellino. Very clean, modest property, extremely helpful host. Well located, short walk from the train station, Duomo and Santa Maria Novella.
Though I don't have suggestions for particular hotels, bear in mind that lots of smaller hotels may not offer elevators. Keep this in mind if you have mobility issues.
How long are you staying and how are you traveling before/after? We had some travel changes and made a very last minute booking (the day before) and had a great experience at c-hotel Ambasciatori. Staying near the train station was a priority (right across the street) but it was a short walk to the historic center as well. It was inexpensive, air conditioned rooms, included breakfast was delicious, and allowed free luggage storage before and after check in.
On my third and most recent visit in spring of 2014 we stayed at Palazzo dal Borgo near Piazza Santa Maria di Novella. Not far from the train station. Elevator and very good breakfast buffet, friendly reception staff.
We liked B&B Hotel Firenze Laurus al Duomo.
I liked Hotel Silla. Stayed there during a Rick Steves tour.
reasonably priced
What exactly is your "reasonably priced"?
Here is a search of this forum- last 2 years:

Hotel Pendini is a forum favorite- great location

Use Booking.com- set the filters for location, budget, amenities. You can book there or find the actual hotel website.
When we travel with other people, we like to get apartments so we have a common area to hang out, as well as to have coffee and a bite to eat before we go out in the mornings. Booking.com or airbnb are your best bets - just be sure to read all the reviews. I would typically say only book those that allow cancellation but you are only a month away so that doesn't matter so much. I typically book six month or more out! Still, you should find something that will work. Lots of options in Florence.
Consider the Hotel Balestri, on the Arno, at a great location.
Stay in a convent !
Casa per Ferie..Borgo Pinti. Great location, good price, English speaking nuns, something unique ! Get info at monasterystays.com and book there or go direct to save a little. My wife and I have stayed twice, including this past May. We met one lady who has stayed 15 times.
No religious requirement to stay there.
