Traveling in September from Florence to Amalfi Coast and staying in Amalfi, is it best to take a train to Salerno and then a bus to Amalfi or hire a driver from Salerno to my hotel? Or is it better to come to Amalfi town from Naples train station? Thank you
High Speed train (Freccia) to Salerno, then bus or ferry or private car to Amalfi.
Faster and fewer changes in mode of transportation. If the weather allows take the ferry. That is the best (most beautiful) way to have an introduction to the Amalfi coast.
That time of year, the Travelmar ferries will be running, so that’s a good option for Salerno to Amalfi.
If it works for you, the ferry is a great option. Gives you a spectacular scenic ride along the coast.
Florence to Salerno by high speed train and ferry along the coast - I see that the others agree with me ;)
