Looking for advice on Capri

My Airbnb for two nights in Capri in July was cancelled today. I’m wondering if we should find different accommodations in Capri or look somewhere else. It’s our first time in Southern Italy and we are spending five nights in Rome before three additional nights somewhere else. I’m worried about Capri being super crowded and hot. Looking for a few days of relaxation after a busy schedule in Rome. I’d appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

Everywhere on the AC will be crowded with limited availability

You might consider Ischia

My Airbnb for two nights in Capri in July was cancelled today.

This happens a lot, and it really can foul up a trip plan.

I no longer use AirBnB or the equivalent for bookings, particularly on a multi stop itinerary in Europe. Sure, you can book a room at a hotel and get "canceled" or have some other problem with the room, but with AirBnB, you are booking a "one off" lodging, and anything can happen.

I once had an AirBnB booked in Santa Fe, NM, and the unit had a serious plumbing issue, so the owner contacted me to cancel one day ahead of the start. It was a legit thing because I made other arrangements last minute and I drove by the apartment and could see the work being done on it, but still, what a pain. I prefer my chances with hotels...

I found availability in Capri but I’m just worried about serious crowds on the island. Sounds like Ischia would be less crowded. Would Sorrento be a good choice or possibly skip the Amalfi Coast altogether and head to Tuscany.

We much prefer Tuscany and Umbria to the areas in the south you mention. Sorrento and Capri are fine but it is very, very late to get good lodging away from crowds. If you can get into La Minerva or near it, you’ll be away from crowds.
