looking for accommodations in Milan for 3 nights

Two adults are looking for accommodations this October. We prefer an alternative to a large hotel: a b&b, apartment or small boutique hotel. Would prefer to stay in the city center close to the Duomo but open to suggestions.

We are staying at the “Gran Duca du York” in Milan for our pre-tour hotel next week.
I have stayed in the past (10 years ago!) and it’s a nice small boutique hotel- I think it’s 3 star rated. Clean and comfortable- nothing extravagant but nice and great location. It’s within a 10 minute walk to the Duomo.
They have been very responsive and helpful to a couple emails I sent asking for dinner suggestions and how to reach the reach the hotel from Malpensa express- the airport train to the city center. Very friendly and helpful in email correspondence.
I looked at TripAdvisor for current reviews since I hadn’t been in so long and they all seem to be quite positive.

I stayed at Spadari al Duomo in January for 3 nights. It is a lovely small boutique hotel. The people are a delight and very helpful. Very good breakfast was included if that is of interest to you. They have an apertivo each evening and also have a small dinner menu if you just want to stay in for the evening. There's a grocery store around the corner for snacks. It's 1 block from the Duomo, near many restaurants (my favorite was the Galleria Restaurant - yes that's the name - in the Galleria next to the Duomo) and easy walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go.

Enjoy your visit to Milan.

We enjoyed our stay at Antica Locanda Leonardo. It is very near “The Last Supper.” The hotel has a very nice garden area and is quiet, wonderful breakfast. We walked to the Duomo but there also were trams available on that route.

Another plus for Gran Duca di York. I stayed there for 3 nights in June- I cannot praise it highly enough. The staff were very responsive when I made the booking and everything about the hotel is great.
Only a few minutes walk from Duomo and the hotel is very quiet.

We liked Hotel Manzoni on Via Santo Spirito. It was easy to walk to Duomo Square from the hotel, and easy to get to the train station by metro. It is on a quiet side street and the staff was outstanding.
