Looking for a great restaurant in Venice

My beautiful wife and I are traveling there next week, and would like some suggestions on a restaurant for dinner that is not too expensive, good ambiance, good food, not full of tourists. Reading reviews and trying to sort through the information in the guide book has been overwhelming. Thank you

Our concierge recommended a restaurant that he took his own family to - locals favorite. It was a little challenging to find. But, well worth the effort. The food was wonderful and the best tiramisu we have ever eaten!!! The name of the restaurant is Al Giardinetto da Serverino.

...or Harry`s Bar but be prepared to re-mortgage to foot the bill. The risotto is outstanding.

Osteria da Alberto is in Rick's book, but just hard enough to find that it's not overrun by tourists. I've eaten there a few times, most recently a couple of years ago, and the food was very good. They often do just 2 seatings (6-ish and 8-ish), so it's a good idea to wander by at lunch hour or the evening before and make a dinner reservation. Easiest to find from Campo S.S. Giovanni e Paolo - cross the bridge in front of the church, walk a 100 meters or so and it's on the left right after you cross over the Panada canal.
