I have stayed twice at Arco dei Tolomei in Trastevere. It's in Rick's guidebook and there are lots of reviews and photos on Trip Advisor.

I highly recommend Hotel Aberdeen near termini. I found it from Rick Steves tour book. We have stayed there 3 times in the past 5 years. It is in a safe and convenient area. The rooms are good sized for Europe and very clean, breakfast is typical Italian. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Enjoy your trip

We have used Hotel Aberdeen, Sonya, and Contilla. Our preference is Hotel Sonya but only slightly over Aberdeen. My wife thinks Sonya's lattes are better. If they are it is only by a small margin. There are all in the Termini area. It is our preferred area to stay.

We just stayed in the Hotel Navona in October. It was great. Little gem in the heart of historical center. One block from Piazza Navona. Great staff, nice, clean rooms, great breakfast, elevator. Would recommend to anyone.

Just stayed at Hotel Stendhal, very near Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Got a great deal through Costco travel. Very nice rooms and nice breakfast spread (and all the cappucino you can drink.)

My fiance and I stayed at the Little Heaven B&B in October, and it was great. It was a small B&B, with really fast WiFi (faster than our flat in London, which was great for uploading pictures each night), there was a light breakfast each morning, and the location is RIGHT NEXT to the Vatican. We still talk about how great it was. The room was what we expected for Rome: small but comfortable. Oh, and the price was great, with a discount because we called and booked directly with the manager. No matter where you stay, I suggest that option. Good luck!

Not exactly a B&B, but Hotel Campo de' Fiori has apartments that face the piazza. We stayed at their smallest apartment in February of this year, it was fantastic & inexpensive, and you have full usage of the hotel's rooftop patio for sunset cocktails. Also daily maid service, a real plus that you don't get in many apartments. We'd do it again in a minute, probably will down the road.

The Termini area is not a great location at all for the usual sites and restaurants. Navonna, Pantheon, and Camp Fiori areas are ideal and Spanish Steps area is okay. There are so many excellent restaurants to choose from in this part of Rome. Someone on this forum recommended Nino and we ate there on a recent trip and loved it. Sorry I cannot recommend a B&B but would avoid Termini area.

We can highly recommend the b&b Armonio Al' Opera on Via Viminale and we've stayed there many times. It is located across the street from the Roma Opera House. The owner, Paolo, is a great host and very helpful.

Incidentally, The Ristorante Al' Amatriciana is located downstairs and is one of our favorite restaurants in Roma. Their Bucatini Al Amatriciana is outstanding.

Buon viaggio,
