Looking for a good day tour of Cinque Terre.

Hello fellow travelers,
I am a solo traveler heading to Europe. Part of my travel includes a stay at Hotel Villa Adriana in Monterosso al Mare. Please let me know of any good tours happening. I enjoy sightseeing, food, beaches, and hiking. I'm very open minded!

Thanks for your help!

There are no "good tours" there unless you want to pre-arrange one of the local tours for yourself. Tours are not really needed there, so I'd suggest picking up a copy of the Italy 2015 guidebook and planning your own sightseeing for that area. You'll have lots of restaurants to choose from in Monterosso. Post another note if you want some recommendations. The hotel staff will be able to provide information on the beaches there, as some parts are pay and some are free. There are beaches both in the new town and old town.

As I recall, Villa Adriana puts on a good buffet breakfast so you'll be able to fill up before you head out touring.

Hi Hnole,

A good option in terms of a "tour" is buying an all-day ferry ticket. It's about 28 Euro, and you can get on and off at three of the four other Cinque Terre towns (Corniglia doesn't have a harbor to disembark). You also go to a beautiful town south of the Cinque Terre called Portovenere. When there, included in the price is a separate boat ride that takes you around 3 islands off of Portovenere. Make sure you take this trip. Beautiful sites! This ride is about 45 minutes. This is the company I used: http://www.navigazionegolfodeipoeti.it/orario.asp?lang=eng. Go to schedule and rates, pick Monterosso to Portovenere and you'll get the schedule. As the other traveler mentioned, there really isn't formal tours in the Cinque Terre, you basically make your own. You'll love it, and meet so many people from everywhere, especially during your hikes.

hn,

Just to clarify, there are formal tours available there from private guides, but these can be expensive and probably not cost effective for one person. The main attraction there is the five towns, and you can easily tour those on your own.
