Looking for a simple loose fitting dress to travel in....help!
Have you tried Travelsmith.com? Or Magellans.com? They specialize in travel-friendly clothing. I've been happy with some NormThompson.com choices, too.
Try a muumuu.
Now that's a good idea.....
I bought a really nice one from LL Bean, wore it on numerous trips, was not too expensive, it is still great many trips later.
I have also had good luck with dresses from REI.
Soybu makes some really nice dresses for summer time travel. Or, layer with a sweater. They don't wrinkle and travel well. Cute too.
Travelsmith gets my vote. They have very nice quality items. I got a merino wool dress on sale last year but I haven't seen it in their catalog so far this year. Go to their website www.travelsmith.com or call for a catalog. If you aren't traveling soon, wait a bit and something will probably appear
on their website for 20% off.
The male point of view may not be appropriate here, but let me say mumus are the ugliest garments on the face of the earth, especially if they aren't your native dress.
Mumu it is then!
Athleta is my go to site for great travel dresses! Rei is a close second:)
J Jill has a very nice sleeveless long knit dress in several colors which is great for travel when paired with a coordinating sweater.
Thanks everyone! I ordered a dress from LLBEAN yesterday. It is the sitting on a plane for hours that get to me. If only we could fly in our PJ'S!
I know I'm about a week late, but I have a strong opinion on this: Patagonia dresses are the absolute best. The Patagonia styles I have tried are all very comfortable, wear well, dry quickly, and can be dressed up or down (heels, or flip-flops; for casual weddings to moderate hiking). They aren't particularly loose, but they do not look or feel clingy at all and seem to flatter a variety of figures. Many of the styles are sleeveless, but a wrap or shawl packs light and can cover your shoulders as necessary.
I think mine have run between $60-80. I get them at REI or rei.com. Hope this helps.
Waste of money going to the Travel clothes websites! Chico's has an
inexpensive whole line of non-wrinkling travel clothes that also include pants, dresses, jackets.
