While staying on the Amalfi Coast near Sorrento, I would like to visit a Buffalo farm where I can purchase "fresh mozzarella di buffalo". We will have a car and be able to do some traveling. Your recommendations are appreciated.

There is a visit to one on the itinerary of the RS South Italy tour. You could call the tour office and see if they can tell you the name and location.
Don't bring your roller skates.
blu349, 😉
The visit to Tenuta Vannulo, as part of the RS Best of South Italy tour, was a highlight and I can heartily recommend. It was a stop before our visit to Paestum and according to Google Maps is about 100km south from Sorrento, via A3. Quite the cow day spa!
Vannulo, simply the best (mozzarella producer in the world).
Since you are staying in Campania and you seem interested: unlike Italians from other regions, those living in Campania call cow-milk mozzarella "fiordilatte". So when you order a Mozzarella in Campania you'll always get a cheese made with buffalo milk.
Another vote for Tenuta Vannulo Buffalo Farm. We visited in 2014 while on a culinary tour of Southern Italy. We had a wonderful lunch and tour. Several of our tour members purchased beautiful handbags. We had the opportunity to observe the process. I would highly recommend the stop to enjoy the delicious Mozzarella.
On our trip, driving from Campania to up Sorrento, with an overnight in between in Salerno, we stopped off at the Paestum sight in the afternoon. About 200 yards before Paestum (south of the temples) was a cheese stand, with very fresh mozzarella di bufala and other cheeses. You may find other real purchase opportunities, in addition to your farm visit.
Living in Neenah, I imagine you’ve had some cheese in your day. Enjoy your mozzarella!
Steven,
I would also highly recommend Tenuto Vannullo as the products are organic and top quality - http://www.vannulo.it/bottega-del-cioccolato.php?lang=en . As I recall, anyone wanting to buy their products has to get there early as once they sell out for the day, any late comers are out-of-luck. Our group had lunch there and the Mozzarella di Bufala was excellent!
Buon appetito!
Paestum site is a must see - 3 fairly complete Greek temples and other remains, a delightful museum, and the Buffalo farm. A nice day trip from Sorrento. On RS Southern Italy tour it was our lunch stop with a specially catered meal where every course highlighted Buffalo milk. Dessert was an incredibly creamy yogurt. The animals are spoiled rotten and it shows in the quality of the product!
Just wanted to add my endorsement of the Tenuta Vannulo Buffalo Farm. When I first read the itinerary for the RS Best of South Italy tour, I thought, "OK". But that stop was very enlightening and a lot of fun! And I have to say we had one of the best lunches! My mouth waters just thinking about the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes that we had there!

There is also Barlotti, just around the corner from Paestum. We were on foot, so we went there and it was delicious.

Thank you all for your kind responses. Tenuta Vannullo received an overwhelming endorsement and does appear to be the place to go. I do appreciate the Barlotti option as well.
Ringraziare a tutti

I went to Tenuto Vannulo 3-4 years ago. You can call and order mozzarella to ensure you get some. They have a wonderful selection of gelati and the best cannolo I ever ate. You can also visit the cows. Without traffic it's about 1.5 hours drive from Sorrento (not via the Amalfi Coast road). I had GPS and still had a bit of trouble finding the place.
BTW if you have a sweet tooth, Sal de Riso in Minori has pastries to die for and great gelati too.
