Can anyone suggest a site for getting info on renting an apt for 2 people,well equipped for 1 or 2 months in Florence ? I am finding most sites are as expensive as staying in a hotel.........

Did you trip www.vrbo.com. I've been lucky with them. Do your homework though to make sure the location is good.

Try the many apartment listings at www.slowtrav.com or www.holidayhomestuscany.com or Venere.com There are many, many websites. Slow trav offers reviews and lots of information. Good luck.

This above is a wonderful place to stay in Florence, particularly for a long period of time. We stayed there 7 nights and it would be the perfect setting for a long stay. It is similar to an apartment; kitchen, loft area, sitting area, etc. It was very nice and the owners are wonderful. Very centrally located and we would definitely stay there again. They offer a great complimentary breakfast each day and I believe the use of the kitchen is quite reasonable even though we took advantage of the breakfast buffet each day. Had we been staying for a longer period, we would have opted to use the kitcher. It came highly recommended to us and we found it to be just wonderful. Susan, Raleigh, NC
