Does anyone know where or how to find a thirty day discount on a room or small apt in the area of Florence. I am going for the mo of Sept. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

You can check with Gabriella who owns rentalsflorence.com. Paula Frommer's Italy book recommended her and we were very pleased with the accommodations and price. We paid less in October than she lists on her web site (first place listed) on an 8 day rental so you should expect a better deal for a month long one.
You can't get much more centrally located than being next to the Duomo.
For the length of time you are staying, be sure the place has a clothes washer as it is very convenient and a lot cheaper than laundries.
