Are the lines long to visit
GIARDINO DI BOBOLI ,can you just walk up to the ticket office

We went on May 1 several years ago when it was a free day, and there was very little line. Great place!

I think you can usually just walk up. That was my experience on an October afternoon a few years ago.

Last September we went on the free day, got tickets at the Museo Bardini (great museum!) first thing in the morning, went up in an elevator, then walked uphill through the Bardini Gardens, around Forte Belvedere, then downhill through the Boboli Gardens to the Porta Romana. No line whatsoever and few people in the Bardini Gardens. The people who were walking UPHILL through the Boboli Gardens rather looked like they wished they weren't.
