We'll have 4 nights in Rome and in our initial research, the Trastevere area appeals to us as a base. Suggestions for lodging in Trastevere?
Become familiar with the type of accommodation in Trastevere by looking at what is available, where it is located within the area and the cost. Then go to the hotels’ websites for more information and see what appeals to you within your price range, time frame etc.
Booking.com is a good first stop to see the range of what's available. Places can be sold out on booking.com when rooms are still available on their own website, however.
I know the "how to" process of searching and booking. I was hoping to draw on the experiences of travelers who stayed at places in Trastevere, e.g. "we stayed at HSF, location was great, room was fine, noisy area" etc.
What’s your budget?
Hotel or apartment?

You can trust reviews on booking.com as those can only be posted by folks who have actually stayed at the property
We liked Donna Camilla Savelli. Price can vary widely depending on time of year. Not in the heart of Trastevere but we found it walkable.
Thanks for the link! At this point we are keeping options open for type of accommodations, as we did when we booked prior trips in the UK, Switzerland and Austria. Prefer to keep the top end limit to $300 per night.
Ellen, thanks! We'll check it out!
We stayed at Donna Camilla Savelli as well
Liked it, good location
We stayed at the Hotel San Francesco in the Trastevere more than 10 years ago. I checked the current reviews, and they are mostly positive and consistent with our experience. If you like to walk and eat, this is a great location. I think RS tour groups stay here on occasion.
Thanks! HSF was on my radar, so now I'll add it to my list for sure.
