We received an email this morning that the hotel we booked in Caddenabia (Hotel Britannia Excelsior) will be closed for renovations during October. So we need to find another place to stay in the central Lake Como region.
We would appreciate any recommendations for a clean, quite & (hopefully) memorable place for about €100 per night.

In Cadenabbia you will find the Alberghetto La Marianna. It is small, clean, comfortable. Paola who runs it is just wonderful. Her husband Ty runs the restaurant - the food is a real highlight. The menu is limited but extremely memorable. We enjoyed our stay there in October 2007 very much. It is just a hundred yards or so from the ferry landing. Have fun.
