We are looking for a few days in Venice before out September 2024 trip. Where are the best places to stay and tour the sights of Venice foe a couple of days before we head to Padua to start the RS tour. We will fly into the Venice airport and go to the Hotel

You can use the search window at the top of the page (or by tapping the hamburger if on a phone) for hotels in Venice. Select forums and perhaps filter for those threads within the last year. OR look at booking.com, where you can filter for budget, location, etc.

I’ve stayed twice at the Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. It’s in a quieter neighborhood, but still just a 10-15 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge. It’s also just down the street from a vaporetto stop, with no bridges or stairs (very handy with luggage!). The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable.

Great location at SM Giglio vaporetto stop, no steps or bridges to cross
Quick walk to San Marco
In a quiet campo, great bkft, lovely staff, roof top terrace

We've stayed at Hotel Campielllo a couple of times as well. The proximity to both the S. Zaccaria vaporettos and P. San Marco are added plusses.
