Anybody know a great place to stay that is central to Parma, Firenza and Cinque Terre. Will have car for day trips. Thanks
Assuming you meant Florence, you've posed a challenging question. These towns are some distance apart with mountains in between them.
One suggestion would be staying in Parma itself. There's a direct freeway from there to La Spezia, where you should park and take the train into the CT. Going the other direction, it's not an unreasonable drive past Bologna and then south to Florence. You might consider parking in Bologna and taking the train to Florence from there.
But Parma's not all that interesting for multiple nights.
Another thought would be Lucca. You could stay in a hotel just outside the city walls that has a parking lot - the Hotel Melecchi is one - and drive to Parma from there and train to Florence and the CT.
Actually, you could stay in the CT (it is almost equidistant from Parma and Florence). The problem is that you would be spending an inordinate amount of time just driving back and forth. Instead of day tripping, why not see them in sequence...first Parma, then CT (via route 33) the Lucca, then Florence.
