lodging on Easter weekend

We will be driving around Tuscany over the Easter weekend, but not sure where exactly we will be
Should we be able to get lodging or is making a reservation mandatory due to that holiday?

Easter weekend will not make a big difference in Tuscany, just Rome. In my opinion, it's always adviseable to get reservations, however. End April is high season.

I agree with you tkwallen. You need to have an early reservations so you wont have any problem for the lodging.

Arriving without reservations in Munich on the first day of Oktoberfest, I did find a room through the Tourist Office (at the worst guesthouse in town). Arriving without reservations in York on the day before Easter, I was told by the Tourist Office that there were no rooms available, and therefore moved on to find a place in a smaller Yorkshire town. In both cases, having a car was a big help to my flexibility. I think you can have similar flexibility in Tuscany, as long as you're willing to keep driving and not always get your first choice.
