Lodging offering Table d'Hote - within a few hours of Venice

I'll admit it - we've been spoiled in France, because it is so easy to find wonderfuil lodgings that offer dinner (table d'hote). After a long day of wandering the countryside, it's wonderful too go 'home' (Agriturismo, B&B, villa...) to a lovely dinner and - a glass of wine with other guests - and not have to drive again.

In September, we will be in Italy - and are very flexible with precisely where this might be - really anywhere within a few hours of Venice (the Veneto, eastern Lombardy, Trentino, or Friuli). We've been to Italy many times and are simply looking for a good base, with wonderful food, to wander for a week. We will have a car and will visit small villages, wineries and whatever takes our fancy. A lovely place to stay will determine where we go.

Could anyone suggest a countryside lodging that offers dinner to guests?

Thank you so much!!!.

We stayed here a few years ago (2015) with a small group (12 people). Visited several small towns in the area and Noli on the coast. If I remember correctly, there was one day they were closed for dinner, but they had a nice breakfast buffet. They had a wonderful view of the Alps from their front yard which we took advantage of each night with a few glasses of wine.

This looks lovely and I've filed it away for the future -- because now my husband (who isn't as flexible as I) asked to limit our trip to an area within a few hours of Venice (where we will arrive and depart from). So, it's the Veneto or eastern Lombardy or Trento or Friuli... Sigh...I'll need to update the post accordingly:)

There is some fantastic wine around the Veneto - perhaps that can be a focus for searching? My S.O. and I caught the Amarone bug in Florence of all places, where we had dinner at a wine bar expecting to enjoy some great Tuscan wines but were introduced to Amarone as something we might like...and we were instantly hooked.

For our next visit to Venice (as yet unplanned) I’d love to take a side trip to spend some time in an agriturismo in the region...a little closer to Verona it seems, so probably a good base for exploring Verona, Padua, and Lake Garda.

Here’s an older article I had bookmarked for ideas:

You might try a bottle of Amarone at your local wine shop or Italian restaurant first to make sure you enjoy the style...

We have stayed at nice places at Lago di Garda ( Malcescine) and in the Dolomites that offered Half board. Very nice dinners too.

Could you provide the names? I've been poring there the Agroturismo and booking.com websites and am overwhelmed!

Well, we finally decided on a B@B in Italy! Agriturismo.it has an option where you can identify the province you are interested in and select full or partial board - and so have chosen to have dinner at the lodging. The web site is easy to use and we cross-referenced properties with booking.com - if all goes well, I'll post information on our experiences in hopes that they benefit someone else.

If you are going to be in the Venetian region, Vicenza is a lovely city to visit!
