Cam anyone recommend a small, non-franchise hotel near FCO that is served by taxi or shuttle service to the airport. We will only be there one night, but would prefer it be an enjoyable evening with, perhaps, dinner at a small restaurant, rather than the humdrum of a big chain hotel. We do, however, need to be mindful of transportation to the airport.

Hotel Tiber in Fuciamo. Pleasant modern hotel with rooftop pool and terrace. Watch the fishing boats come in, take a stroll along the river. Good selection of restaurants including one in the hotel itself. Arrange shuttle/taxi in advance when you make your reservation. It’s about 10 mins from airport to hotel.
