I am having difficulty booking a twin room with private bath and a great view for 3 nights in Vernazzo, Cinque Terre for October? Has anyone spent time there? Many thanks!!

mimi, I assume you're referring to Vernazza? A bit more information would help. Which places have you tried so far? Is there any possibility you would consider another of the villages? For travel in October, it's likely that some of the smaller establishments will be shutting-down for the winter.

Dear Ken, Hello! We are exploring spending 2-3 nights in Cinque Terre during Oct 3rd week, can you recommend / advice with of the villages should we stay at? Thanx so much for your help Rohit

Rohit, Which of the five villages to stay in will depend to some extent on what type of accommodations you want? Keep in mind that the Cinque Terre tends to be somewhat "informal" so most of the villages only have small B&B's, Pensiones, etc. If you want more of a conventional Hotel, then Monterosso is the logical choice. It's the largest of the villages, and therefore has the best choice of Hotels and restaurants. One other important point to mention. I noticed from your other post that you'll be travelling in that area at the beginning of October. Conditions will likely be somewhat "quiet" in the C.T. at that time of year, as some of the tourist facilities will be getting ready to shut down for the winter. With that in mind, staying in Monterosso would be my choice. You'd probably find it really helpful to have a look at the Italy Guidebook, as it has lots of suggestions for touring, Hotels, etc. Given your location, it would probably be difficult to obtain the paper copy. However, if you have a Kindle or iPad you could download an E-book copy of the Guidebook. Hope this helps. Happy travels!

I am visiting CT in mid-October. Monica Lercari was most helpful in locating exactly what I was looking for in Vernazza. [email protected]

Dear Ken, Thanx so much for taking out time and answering to my query, appreciate it. We would be in CT during Oct 23rd to be more precise, we are looking to spend some quality time and enjoy the nature, we are not looking at partying. Also we good with any small / quiet place which has a good view, we are not looking at big or conventional hotels. Let me know if with this information you can recommend something. In all probabilities we will be landing in Milan and from their we will be heading to Monte Carlo where we intend spending 2-3 nights and then will head to CT, we are exploring taking train, advice if this is ok. From CT we intend moving to Rome or Florence. Would appreciate if you can recommend a good small place for stay in CT. Thanx/cheers
