Lodging in Vernazza, Italy

We are a group of 6 siblings looking for 3 rooms in Vernazza, Italy in September of 2013. We'd prefer a great view but would like affordable rates. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!

Wayne, You may find it helpful to have a look at the Italy 2013 Guidebook, as there are lots of suggestions there for good lodgings in Vernazza. You could also have a look at the Vernazza website for a list of accommodations which were operating in 2012. You could certainly try contacting any of the places listed, however don't be too surprised if you don't get a reply for a long time. Most of the businesses in the Cinque Terre are now closed for the season and therefore may not be checking E-mail on a regular basis. I would suggest booking as early as possible, even for September. Vernazza is very popular, so especially for a group of six an early start would be advisable. Happy travels!

We were there during October. People offered us lodging when we got off the train. We looked at one but it was too small for five of us. We then walked to the hotel by the water (can't recall the name). A woman from the hotel then talked to two other women in the street and they settled on a nice two bedroom apartment (no view) for a great price.
