We plan to be in Sorrento mid-May - Does anyone have suggestions for lodging that is in a "middle" range?
Michael,
You might have a look at Hotel Desiree as that should fit the midrange category. It's on the far end of town but not a difficult walk (although from the station with luggage I'd probably take a cab).
We stayed at Hotel Mignon and our price included breakfast. Out of all the Hotels we stayed at on our last trip, this one is the most memorable. It met all my criteria of having air conditioning, being close to the city center as we did not want to be up on a hill, we wanted to be able to walk to the restaurants and to the train station for our day at Pompeii. The Hotel is steps away from the main street, but tucked away and we could not hear a thing at night and there is a market right next door. The breakfast was your typical European breakfast with the meat and cheese but they also had fresh fruit, cakes and made coffee drinks to order and it can be served inside or out on the patio which was super cute and comfortable. They also have a full bar that opened around 5pm I think, which we really enjoyed. The rooms were large and we had a wrap around patio, which I used to dry some clothes we had washed. Can you tell I loved this place??
I second Hotel Mignon. We stayed there in 2010 and thought it was a great location, clean and close to the main street.
I'm in Sorrento for the 10th year in a row. The first year I found il Nido after doing alot of internet 'dreaming'. I see no reason to not stay there for the next 10 or more years. The place is comfortable. The owner, Marco and his family, are genuinely personable. The restaurant has become, not just in my opinion, among the best in Sorrento. It's on the hill, with spectacular views, but the shuttle is frequent and convenient.
We will be staying at Hotel Mignon this April. I've never been but it was highly recommended here and in Rick's book for a mid-range place. It looks like a cute b&b and the location is great.
Il Nido was a wonderful place to stay.
Check out the webcam.. the view really is spectacular
We also stayed at Il Nido a few years ago and enjoyed the hotel and restaurant.
Have a great trip!
I stayed at Tasso Suites in June 2014 and enjoyed it. Right in town, AC, a small lift, and nice staff. They have rooms with small kitchens. They provided a voucher for breakfast at a restaurant just around the corner. It had great service and you could get a full English breakfast if you wanted. Not sure if they're still doing that now. I would stay there again.
Have you considered an Air BnB ? If you have more than 2in your party - they seem very worthwhile !
try hotel sorrento city-great location!
We’ve stayed twice at Hotel Antiche Mura and loved it. Great central location, convenient to train and bus station, wonderful breakfasts.
Another vote Hotel Antiche Mura but I don't know if it falls into the "middle" range of tariffs. That depends on what "middle"
is for you?
