Anyone spent time in Sciacca (Sicily)? Me and my family will be there in May for 3 nights and would like a place to stay in town, either hotel or B&B or apartment. We're driving, so parking will be important. I've seen a few places listed but the closest parking is half mile away. Thanks -
Hi Dave
Two years ago, we stayed at Verdetecnica in Sciacca. It is located above the town with a wonderful view of the surrounding area. The owners are wonderful and accommodating. We only saw them once during the trhee days we were there. The units are divided up into separate apartment style units. We stayed in "Monika". Self catering, large unit with an upstairs bedroom. They started us off with a welcome basket of bread, olive oil, cheese, coffee, and wine. You have a grocery store about a 5 minute drive away. I highly recommend it. If we get back to Sicily, this is where we would like to stay for a week and explore more of the region. A great place to relax.
I'm so glad that you're going to Sciacca! We only stayed one night but enjoyed our time there and would go back. We stayed at Hotel Aliai - it's near the harbor but there is plenty of parking right in front of the hotel. There are great restaurants nearby and you can easily walk to the old town but there are many steps (as in stairways - the hotel is below the city) to get there. The hotel is a little hard to find but the staff can give you directions. Check the reviews on Trip Advisor to see if it sounds like something that you would like. It's basic but it worked well for us.
