Lodging in Manarola

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my inquiries over the last few days. The only thing I have left to book is my stay in Manarola. I have no doubt that Rick's suggestions are good, i just thought someone might have a special spot to recommend in the sub 100 euro realm.

David, The only "sub 100" accommodations that I'm aware of in Manarola would be the Ostello 5 Terre. Are you definitely committed to staying in Manarola, or would one of the other towns suffice? Cheers!

Ken I have found a couple of places in the 100 euro price range but I was just looking for the possibility of a reader's passionate recommendation. Riomaggiore is also possibility.
Any ideas?

David, Are you looking for basic "no frills" accommodations or something with more "ambience" (and probably higher cost)? I've used Mar-Mar Rooms in Riomaggiore in the past, and found the accommodations to be clean and very comfortable. However, as I recall only the room is provided so you'd be on your own for breakfast. They advertise rooms (double occupancy) for €60-80 per night, but you'd have to contact them to confirm the rates. I stopped to have a chat with them last September, and everything seems much the same. I believe they may have re-branded to Riomaggiore Reservations now (according to the listing in the Guidebook). Cheers!

Hi Dave - I booked a room at www.manarolavistamare.it after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. I haven't gone yet but Nicoletta got right back to me and the reviews were good. Enjoy your trip!

In Oct, 2009, we stayed at Arpaiu in Manarola. It was on the cliff overlooking the harbor. Our shuttered windowed out to the beautiful view. The common area on the upper level had a wonderful deck with lounge chairs. We loved it! BTW our favorite restaurant was Aristide which had protected outdoor seating for lunch and dinner, as well as a coffee bar with fresh pastries in the morning. Our favorite server was Graziano.
Enjoy!
