I am going on Rick's Rome tour but I want to spend a couple days in Florence. I am planning on flying into Florence and then taking the train to Rome.
I am looking for recommendations for a hotel for a 3 night stay. I want something safe, comfortable and centrally located to the museums and not too pricy. I am a single woman travelling alone so a small room would be ok.
I am planning on taking the train to Rome. Any tips and experiences would be appreciated.

I've stayed several times at 3-star Hotel Hermitage, just next to the river, close to Ponte Vecchio & the Uffizi, wonderful rooftop terrace. As a solo traveler...I have stayed several times at the Hotel Il Bargellino which is close to train station (SMN) and near the Marcato Centrale, duomo etc. Has a lovely large terrace where guests can gather which is very nice to meet people and share wine etc. A nice variety of rooms with en suite or shared if you choose a smaller single room. Was always my "go to" before I started renting apartment for longer stays. The nicest owners as well!
