My wife and I will be traveling from Rome Termini to Salerno May 11 or 12 by train. We would like to stay in Salerno 4-5 nights, using it as a base to do some family research in Montecorvino Rovella and area, using buses as our transportation. Next, we want to travel to Verona by train, possibly stopping at Bologna 2 nights, then taking the train to Verona and then the bus to Soave. We are both in our mid 70’s and do not speak Italian. We will have 1 wheeled carryon each. Are the train and bus our best choices? We are looking for lodging ideas around 100euro per night. Finally, we will return by train to Rome from Verona, hoping to stay 1 night near the Rome Termini, taking a taxi to FCO.
For our family research, what are the suggestions as to where (offices, churches) we should start, and will we be able/allowed to do so?
We are open for any guidance.
Thank you,
Tilio
Tilio, Your questions are too broad to be answered easily. When you have more definite ideas, ask some specific questions here and we'd love to help. As for your genealogical questions, do a Google search for an Italian oriented heritage forum that will have more expertise.
