I've never been to Italy, but my youngest son has recently been assigned to a military base near Venice. I thought this might be a great opportunity to bring our family to him this Christmas season. That being said, we are very open to suggestions and flexible on our dates and location(s) but do want to be in Venice for Christmas with enough room to sleep 5 adults (cozy quarters are just fine). My husband and I will stay approx. 5 weeks (perhaps 3 weeks in Venice and two elsewhere). We typically choose to spend at least a month in a "new to us" country when we travel as we prefer to take our time getting to know a region and people and their history etc. Do you have any recommendations for month long rentals (trying to stay under $3K)? To clarify - the rental would be for my husband and myself. We would only have all 3 adult kids the week leading up to Christmas.
