Lockers in Milan central station

We will be in Milan on 9/21 for the day only. At the Central train station are the lockers to store our packs and stuff? If not do you have any suggestions.

No lockers in Italy train stations. They were removed years ago. Better yet, the larger ones have staffed Left Luggage facilities. Mona has provided the information for this facility in the main Milan train station.

How secure are these left luggage counters, would you trust that your bags will be undisturbed leaving them there for a couple of days? Will expensive equipment (cameras, e.g.) be safe in there? I've heard never leave anything behind in Italy.

You shouldn't check anything that would ruin your trip if it disappears. I would never check expensive camera equipment at a Left Luggage.

As another poster said, there are no lockers but a left luggage area on the main level. We had the same experience, only one day in Milan, and had plans to see Last Supper, Duomo, etc. We left three bags at 3.50 euros each and no problems at all. Everything seemed secure and we left wo any worries-too excited to think of anything but seeing the LS.

Our experience with left luggage security in Italy was very good. The luggage is placed on shelves behind the counter. They also make a photocopy of your passport picture and place the copies with the luggage. We needed to show our passports to get our luggage back. Still, I wouldn't leave anything critical to your journey in the luggage.

Thanks everyone for the information. I know we need to be careful with our stuff, but it's nice to know we do have an option at Milan Central.
Leslie we will be on the look out for you guys in Milan.
