Lockers at Milan's Cadorna station?

Arriving at Malpensa in the morning and would like to spend the day in Milan before heading to Lake Como. Which is the better option:
1. Train to Cadorna (only if lockers are available for luggage) for the convenience of being near the Duomo and seeing the Last Supper, retrieve bags, head to Centrale and then Varenna.
2. Bus to Centrale, store luggage, spend the day seeing sights in Milan, back to Centrale, train to Varenna.
Thanks!

Take the bus to Centrale and use baggage storage there. The subway in Milan makes getting around to the sites easy.

Sue - I would agree with Doug. Go to Centrale and take the bus/tram/etc. Milano is an easy city to get around! If you going to other stations, here's the trenitalia website and instructions on how to find out what train stations have baggage service...

First go to http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

  • Select from the headers: "IN THE REGION"

  • Select your region; For Milan: "LOMBARDI"

  • Select the services provided: "SERVIZI IN STAZIONE"

  • Select first leter of City Code: "M" for Milano

  • Look in the column designated: "DEPOSITO BAGAGLI"

  • In Milano Centrale there is a luggage deposit!

If you know your region and train station, you can use this process for any train service.

Ron

Thanks, Doug and Ron. Also, Ron, great info about depositing bags at train stations! This is especially handy if planning side trips when taking the trains!

The luggage storage at Centrale station does not have lockers but all bags are stored in a secure area. The left luggage area is on the main level and bags are about 3.40 euro each. I think we left four bags and they were placed on a trolley. There was a fairly long line but it moved quickly. Have a great trip! Seeing The Last Supper was an awesome experience.

Store at Centrale, and from there take the subway, the Yellow line down 3 stops (or maybe two) to Duomo and you will come out right in front of the Duomo. On the way back take the subway back to Centrale.
