I will be visiting Venice in late August & I'm having trouble deciding between the Aqua Palace Hotel and Locanda Orseolo. I have read the reviews on Trip Advisor and they seem favorable for both places (although the reviews for Locanda Orseolo seem a bit better). Just looking to see if anyone has had first hand experiences with either place recently. Thank you in advance.

Haven't stayed at both, but have stayed at the Locanda Oreolo and it was fantastic. Barbara makes these wonderful breakfast creeps.... Yoummmm! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at Locanda Orseolo the summer of 2011. It is a fabulous location. Just a short alleyway to their door from the large square. The staff were so kind to us and helped us with all our questions. Bruno and staff, made several dinner suggestions and even called in reservations for us. Each room is decorated differently and quite comfortable. We chose a room over looking the canal. We watched the boats coming early AM making deliveries. If you are sensitive to noise, you might want a courtyard room instead, but we were thrilled to watch life unfold. We plan to return in the near future...and yes the breakfast crepes are marvelous! I have no experience at the Aqua Palace.
