We're planning a two week stay near Bordighere on the Italian Riviera this July and would appreciate input on weekly produce markets in that area please. We'll have a car so don't mind traveling a bit for really fresh local produce.
Thanks
I haven't been to that part of the Italian coast, but there seems to be a big market in Ventimiglia. I believe it draws a lot of visitors from France as well as Italians. https://ventimiglia.town/shopping-2/
Wow! That looks perfect and close to where we will be staying.
Thanks much.
If you go to the Friday market in Ventimiglia, take the train (parking will be a nightmare) and watch your belongings (the town is scruffy).
I'd be surprised if a seaside village living on tourism wouldn't have its weekly market on the promenade. Did you ask your host about it?
Ventimiglia is not that "scruffy", there are many refugees trying to enter France.
The town you’re staying in has a Thursday market.
This one is a favorite. San Remo, Italy:
Market Day Tuesday and Saturday. Covered food market everyday except Sunday. I prefer the market in San Remo. The town is much prettier with beautiful gardens and little restaurants along the seafront.
Edit:close by in Menton.

Since you're staying in the area for some time and will have a rental car, I think it would be worth your while to spend some time on the A Path to Lunch website. I think the folks behind the website live in Liguria, and they've posted information on a lot of out-of-the-way villages, many of them not on the coast. I'm a public-transportation traveler, so it's not as easy for me, but I really love getting to inland towns and villages; they are usually much, much less touristy.
