We have hired a Rick Steves travel guide for a shore excursion out of Livorno on October 15 2012. Going to Pisa for a brief photo stop, and then a lovely drive through Tuscany with a tour and lots of walking time in Volterra. If you would like to join our group contact me for more details. (p.s. yes I am using the cruise boards, but thought I would post it here also because of the connection to Rick's book on Mediterranean cruise ports).
