We will be in Livorno-one day on a cruise ship and are not interested in the ship tours as we have spent several months in Tuscany and are not interested to return to Florence,Sienna.Pisa or Lucca-but the city of Livorno sounds interesting as well as the "Sanctuary of Montenero and are wondering about the possibilities of visting here? Any help will be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the sanctuary, but this tourist site describes a bus departing from Livorno train station.
