Live from Rome

Had a great first day yesterday. Did the Colliseum, Forum, palentine hille, pantheon, trevi fountain and a couple churches.

Did the Vatican today.

Half of the pantheon is under construction, huge scalfolding in the front of it. ruined any good pictures.

the vatican is in top form.

There is also no dress code whatsoever for the vatican. I saw girls in boy shorts, tube tops, tank tops and sun dresses. Guys were wearing above knee shorts and tank tops.

Sandals, flip flops and 3 inch heels inside too.

The weather has been great. A little rain yesterday but it kept the temp down.

Trevi fountain at night is spectacular.

Just because one guard allows it doesn't mean the next will. Make sure to dress appropriately or you may be denied entrance to St. Peters. Not sure if Jason is talking about the basilica or the museums. The museums are more lax than the basilica.

I was just there, too! Was VERY disappointed to see McDonald's in the square around the Pantheon! Sorry, but, to me, it is just wrong!

Glad you're having a good time!

I was in Rome two months ago and it was amazing!!! The Pantheon was in scaffolding when we were there too. I wore shorts inside the vatican and was just fine. People were talking inside the sistine chapel and the shushers were making more noise than the tourists! Lol! Glad you are having fun! Have some gelato for me!

Don't scoff at McDonalds! It is a welcome place to take a Pee break when needed (for the price of a Coke)!

I too have seen young girls in fish nets and hot pants inside St. Peters!
