Lines at Major Destinations around Christmas

How long are the lines at major destinations in Italy around Christmas (Dec. 22-30) in Venice, Florence and Rome? I've heard that winter/December is not as crowded, but is Christmas an exception? For major destinations, I mean places like the Uffizi, Pitti Palace, the Colosseum, St. Mark's Basilica, Florence Duomo, etc.

Thanks for the help.

All the major sites will have long lines. If you wish to avoid those lines simply book entry tickets or tours online before your trip.

I can’t speak for that time frame, but we were there for 10 days a little more than two weeks before Christmas. It was delightful. No lines in Siena and Florence to all the major attractions.

The only time it was crowded was the last Saturday evening before Christmas, when everyone was out doing last minute shopping.
