Linate closing Summer 2019

https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/milan-linate-airport-closing-duomo-italy-ops-group-why-runway-a8575616.html

I haven't seen this news posted on the Forum, so thought I would share this link.

Last week British Airways sent an email saying that our Seattle/Milan round trip for next summer was cancelled. Our son, with the same departure flight but different return flight, has not yet been notified of the cancellation. If you have a flight between late July and late October to/from Linate, you might want to check with your airline about rebooking.

BTW - BA automatically booked us on flights I did not like since we had a later arrival than I originally planned and would lose most of a day in Milan. When I called BA, the customer service person was as gracious and helpful as she could be - even offering to let me book a flight a day ahead of our original departure. She said it was BA's responsibility to find a flight that worked for us. With so many airline horror stories, it is nice to share one about good service!

For clarity, it is a temporary closure for runway paving, not a permanent closure.

Last flight op set for July 26.

Planned resumption of service, Oct 28
